Drakas' geeky life began when he was just eight years old, at the time where he started learning Borland Turbo Pascal on his Windows 95 box. Along with programming, one of his first games was SimCity, which wasted so much of his childhood. Three years later, he created his own first web site in FrontPage Express and started realising how fun computer life really is. Aside from computers, at the same age, he was the top mathematics student in his school.

After some time, his fun was over due to education. After one year of no computer leetage, Drakas received a computer as his Christmas present; and this is where his FPS ownage started: along with the computer, there was a copy of Unreal Tournament: GOTY, in which, he was simply owned by a novice level bot; but in time, he managed to come to the very last level, but never succeeded beating Xan Kriegor. By receiving an internet connection, he started learning what "rofl", "lol" and "pwned" meant; that is what he had been told in most of his games. When he advanced to the summer of 2004, he was introduced to Unreal Tournament 2004, in which he spent most of his time simply getting his online skills up.

With receiving of a new computer in the winter of 2006, Drakas made a drastic change to a real operating system, called Gentoo GNU/Linux. He became more leet than ever. Through an IRC channel, he discovered Cube and Sauerbraten, two simple and amazing games, which, in Drakas' opinion, were so much better than Unreal Tournament 2004. That was the time of the full change.

In the days of old Sauerbraten, his competition was against rock.n.rol, sdk, nitronix, t0taln00b and others, some of the most famous players of the old days. In time, during dark evenings of October 2006, Drakas wanted to make a change. The change started with Drakas, t0taln00b and Flapdrol, getting together a team of those who want simply to pwn, because the competition was not big enough! That was when the noob clan was born. In a week's time, however, we renamed ourselves to the Woop clan, as we are today.

In real life, Drakas is studying in high school and wanting to study Computer Science at a good university, simply to make a change! He scripts in PHP and JavaScript, programs a bit of Pascal, C and C++. He makes semantic HTML and CSS web pages and has a good knowledge of search engine optimisation. He enjoys Economics and Mathematics and is learning a bit of German.

He lives healthily - does not smoke, does not drink alcohol, does not eat chocolate, does not consume McDonald's food, nor does he drink Coke. He enjoys frequent cycling and used to participate in an athletics club.

Drakas is a supporter of libertarianism, a strong atheist, believes in freedom to choose what to do as well as net neutrality. He supports free and legal music as well as growth through work, not through "Embrace, extend and extinguish".

dazza got his first computer at the age of 5 and learnt to game with Nibbles and Reader Rabbit. He learnt to frag on Doom, Heretic and later Unreal Tournament, before quitting gaming to concentrate on his studies (or something...). After discovering Open Source, he returned to gaming with GNU/Linux and Sauerbraten.

With over a decade of fps experience, dazza has fragging figured out. While playing, he discovered a group of elite gamers calling themselves w00p; now an active w00p member for over 6 months, dazza loves to pit his will against the best gamers Sauerbraten has to offer, or relax after a tough day by putting noobs in their place in the public servers.

After suffering for some months on high-ping overseas servers, dazza used his linux experience to set up the w00p:au sauerbraten servers for low-ping fragging in the oceanic region. w00p continues to attract players from around australia with the promise of low latency and tough competition.

In between working as a software developer and sleeping, Dazza spends his time fragging noobs and maintaining half of w00p's server collection. Expect to find him in-game waiting for talented new players to frag :)

Tachyon

"A tachyon (meaning "swift, fast") is any hypothetical particle that travels at superluminal velocity. --- Therefore, it can never slow to light speed or below." -- Wikipedia.

Tachyon doesn't have a decent gaming history. He mostly played chess, in which he won the Finnish championship in the league of his own age, and occasionally something along the lines of BSD games and nethack. Later he developed a passion for so called retro gaming and games such as Defender are just as good or better than Crysis. Whereas others needs seem to go up, his seem to go down. In fact, he belives he could manage with a portable machine with a 17Mzh CPU and 256Kb RAM.

Tachyon likes very few Q3A / arcade-styled FPS games that are designed towards fun and skill, both of which depend on the player. He also likes various irl (in real life) strategy/board/role playing games that require skill, read: thinking, and are fun. He found woop, it was skilled and fun. After some intense practise and funny IRC-sessions (mostly later), he was not getting ownzored so much anymore, he was a Wooper.

GNU/Linux, Unix-like and Unix make him drool. He has an interest in the community as well as the philosophy and development of those systems. One part of that are programming languages, kernels and applications. He started with programming by reading three 1000+ page C++ books at the age of twelve and managed to compile his first Linux kernel at that time. He doesn't recall much of that.

Tachyon likes to overthink everything, tinker with computers and debate about pretty much everything - GPL (Tachyon) vs. MIT (Drakas), Mechatama (Tachyon) vs. Godzilla (ot4ku) and has a hidden 100+ SuperFlameSuit for religious debates.

During friday evenings, he is found playing Sauerbraten, playing D&D, studying programming, building his UNIX-cluster or hanging around in Woop and 127.0.0.1.

It is all about music and ownage. Stanko is addicted to those two things. Every day, he will be giving his best every day to own, not just in real life, but also in AssaultCube and Urban Terror.

It all started 20 years ago and it has been going pretty well since. Stanko, for the first time, got his hands on a computer when he was four. It was a 286 and has so many good old games (sometimes you can catch Stanko playing them on DOSBox). He became interested not just in games, but for the inner workings of computers as well.

So he started programming some minor stuff, and as the time goes by he is looooooving it more and more (especially the C programming language). Now he is at the University of Belgrade studying his prolonged interest, Computer science.

In the begining his gaming skills was focused on logic and strategic games. The Incredible Machine is all time favourite of his. He played some classic FPSes like Doom and Quake, but only in single player; never too much.

AssaultCube was his first online FPS, and he was suprised that he is not the one who is getting pwned at public servers. Soon enough he came across few w00p members, and joined their IRC channel. The rest is history! Stanko accepted the offer to join uber skilled players of w00p. Not long ago he discovered Urban Terror and is pwning well on public!

Besides computers and music, he enjoy many things and has few hoobies. He likes socialising and has some pretty good friends, and likes hanging and having fun with them. He used to play water polo, but was unable to continue due to a shoulder injury. He plays football and basketball with his friends as part of his recreation.

Stanko also has an artistic side: hand-made jewelry is one of his specialties. It is mostly made from metal (chainmail) and sometimes leather and few beads. His another hobby is drawing, with some "tattoo" style (planning to get a tattoo already due to the liking!). Some of his works can be seen on his web site.

There is too much to write when comes to music and Stanko's addiction to it. So, let's keep it short as possible: he likes rock and metal music, and his choices roam from The Beatles and Elvis to Pantera and RATM. Two all time favourites of his are AC/DC and Pink Floyd. Stanko likes too many bands (only the good ones) and it is fully addicted to music, listening it whole day long.

After a long exploration journey through the world of computer games (since "pong" in the 70s), rock.n.rol finally found what he was looking for in countless games before: The opportunity to make nice own content without the need to use external editors/programs.

He is a sauer player since June 2006 and has never mapped before, amazed by the easyness of mapping in sauer, he was coop-editing in the first 4 months every day (at least 10-12 hours) and has met a lot of very nice ppl, another aspect which he finds is amazing in an fps game where fragging is the main subject.

rock.n.rol likes playing on popular public servers, to have "more targets" to frag, so keep your eyes open, you could be the next.

When Drakas asked him to join the new founded woop-clan, he couldn't say "no" of course, due to the uber-leetness of woop, he feels like home in sauer now more than ever.

rock.n.rol hates cheaters and tries to kick them whenever he can, but the thing he likes most is fragging people who just collected the quad damage.

You will also find out that he never constantly plays good or bad, every game is a new situation for him, and he loves experimenting new ways to walk, move and shoot, that´s why he sometimes manages to frag 5 ppl in a row and sometimes completely sucks for minutes.

rocknrol made a map called lostinspace and it has made its way to the Sauerbraten repository already, it was his first ever published map and he will try to more maps of course.

Hirato

Hirato can be considered a joker, a person who hardly takes things seriously. He will taunt and jest you about, often being offensive with his crude humour, without such intention. His pwneroring skills are excellent, as he will never leave a noob un-pwned, and wins over 80% of the matches he plays. He is very interested in computers, is learning to code in C. He is also a CubeScript wizard (if you remember to keep various shader commands and params out of the equation).

Like many, he has seen the light and switched to GNU/Linux, but is still patiently waiting for GNU Hurd.

He also is a GNU/Linux fanatic who refuses to use M$ products, and runs whatever he needs through Wine (if you could not tell).

In real life, Hirato is an aussie in a cruel and a dangerous winBSOD loving environment. He is unemployed, still going to school to further his education, so that he may become a computer engineer and create hardware that [temporarily] will only run on real OSes (hint: GNU/Linux and GNU Hurd).

He has some Sauerbraten expertise: pwning, mapping, CubeScript, using shaders and creating some basic textures.

Hirato used to participate in gymnastics and notices that some people are on a verge of calling Hirato 'the abominable fruit monster', simply because he feeds only on fruit. He has a talent called '1 (4N 5P34k n00bs'

cyclobs started playing FPS games with Quake 2. He found it amusing to be running around, picking big guns up and killing little people! For most of his gaming career, he played single player games without being aware of on-line gameplay. As he went through primarily playing all sorts of games, his real life took a turn to a high school in 2003, when his memories of gaming disappeared for a couple of years.

After moving schools in 2004 he was introduced to the guitar which he loved the second he got his hands on it and to this date has loved playing it and making music. When he first started he didn't quite understand what the guitar was used for until he heard his first real rock song (Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water) and was one of the first songs he had learned to play with the guitar.

After months of begging his parents for his very own guitar he finally got one for his birthday in 2004, where the first song he had ever played on it was Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes. To this day he still plays the very same guitar.

Over the years he has become more and more interested in different genres of music, starting off with hard rock with bands like Deep Purple and The White Stripes; soon discovering punk rock, which his next couple of years belonged to.

cyclobs left school after grade 10 and soon enough got into heavier music listening, to bands like Metallica and Nickelback. Of course, he fell in love with Slipknot and their single The Nameless, Slipknot being his favourite band.

As with leaving school, cyclobs attended programme to take a computer course; for this, his parents bought him a new computer. During the year, he met an ex-woopie (Phlosten) who introduced cyclobs to open source gaming and Sauerbraten itself.

After being introduced to Sauerbraten, his addiction to it grew slowly; where many late nights were spent on the servers of The Conquerors; full of many noobs to own. He eventually met dazza of the Woop clan, where he has made some new friends, and, on top, started learning German.

After spending all of his on-line life on dial-up, he got his hands on Broadband access, along with an opportinity to become one of the best; joining Woop and becoming part of the team!

cyclobs is hoping to change to GNU/Linux, where he will no longer get any more of BSODs.

cyclobs hopes, one day, to have a carrier in music, as he writes and records to produce much of his own music. As a result of the love of making music, he announced that he will be making his very own album and hopes to compete and share his great metal music with the open world!

Xenios made his first contact with FPS games in the 90s. He began playing Doom, Duke Nukem 3D in single player mode but soon found out that playing on LAN was much more fun. So he played with his mates for several years throughout the period of Quake (QII and Q3A), RTCW, Half Life, MOHAA and other known FPSes. Xenios realised that he finds fast gameplay most favourable, so Q3A was his favourite game. Despite friendly competition, none of Xenios' friends could really compete with Xenios. Since beginning a job after his studies Xenios had not much time for playing anymore and completely stopped due to work on his house.

During days of 2006, more time was available and the need for some frags grew very much. Xenios surfed the 'net for some kind of a free FPS game. He did find quite boring to play War§ow and Nexuiz against his friends, until he found Sauerbraten in the late 2006. Sauerbraten has the same fast-paced gameplay like his beloved Q3A. Pwning his workmates was not much of a challenge, and that's what made him decide to play online.

That's the time when he met the guys from Woop. Glad that he found a challenge (finally, he's not the one who always wins), he played many instagib matches. Finally it were thanks to Rhubarb and Deimos who encouraged him to join the Woop clan.

He enjoys playing matches with other woopies, improving his skills and hanging out at #woop-clan. Xenios doesn't like people who leave games unfinished for lame reasons like losing. So if you find him on-line, don't be afraid, fight like a man... ;-)

In real life Xenios is a civil engineer and works as a structural designer. He has a liking towards music, movies and nature.

Meatpie

Meatpie,
One of our main Australian Assault Cube players, started he started playing AC late 2006 when it was called "ActionCube". Mid-2007 he noticed the Woop clan and not too long after, he was welcomed into the community by Drakas, dazza and Rhubarb. These days he mainly focuses on using the sniper rifle in AC perfecting the head shot, but if the situation arises will change weapon to suit game-play.

In real life Meatpie enjoyed sex, drugs and rock'N'roll as a youngster and apparently has not changed too much since. Career-wise he has a trade certificate in screen printing and is experienced in graphic design and production management in the screen printing industry. Later on, he started a successful company in the pre-mixed concrete industry and now doesn't have so much work related stress. A loving partner and father of two girls are his priorities.

wakeup 1.0 was released in 1991, there were some beta versions like his big brother, but they really sucked so let's concentrate on wakeup 1.0. His developers aimed at creating a being so relaxed that it could slow down matter by plain presence, saving the world from anihilation. However, obviously, something went wrong and instead of saving the world he became an ignorant, insane, uncaring, minimalistic but pretty relaxed slacker-genius.

So in his further life he started gaming, coding and finally thinking. He played too many games to remember but currently he is playing DotA and UrbanTerror. He is also getting a Sauerbraten mod started: Raw Meat. On his website you can find most stuff he managed to 'finish'.

wakeup is a nihilist which probably includes atheism and a breeze of 'Who the hell cares?'. His political interest are none and he is one of the guys visiting a demonstration to throw stones and enjoy violence. He also thinks that in future Japan will totally pwn the world (including USA) using their Mechs and spaceships.

In his destructive nature wakeup also states that he does not respect any copyrights or licenses. By the way: Linux should be called Linux and not 'GNU/Linux' just because of the fact that these GNU pussies are whining about their missing credit. If you want your names on shit, don't make FREE software.

Several months of AC fragging lead him to discover the Woop fragfest is about to take place, leading him to an invitation that he could not resist - to join the Woop clan.

In real life, kreptor works in the construction business. A few years after completing high school, kreptor graduated at the top of the class of a construction school. He enjoys hunting and fishing as well as pool games. His best achievement was to come at the 3^rd place in his division of the Arkansas Pool Players Association.

Kaylee has been a gamer since Doom, the best game of all times. Playing various game types from MMORPGs (Silkroad, WoW, Guildwars) to having FPSes, for which, most people will call Kaylee just odd!

Kaylee started off playing Doom, Condition Zero, and, later on - the famous of all, Counter-Strike. In the second year of playing CS, she was offered an opportunity of a life time to play the two games for money. Since, she has been part of teams such as zEx, United 5, Cyberglobe; finally making it to the most known team compLexity. Yet, she cannot forget a well known FPS Call of Duty, which she played in her spare time (also having a chance to play professionally).

Kaylee was one of the best girls to ever play CoD; being able to hang out with the guys, making a huge stride in e-Sports.

Not long after, a new game, called Counter-Strike: Source came out. This is the time where Kaylee made most of her money, competing in huge, well established LAN tournaments, making up to for $10k for the first place. Along with that, she was offered a contract from Check 6; making the best choice of her life!

Kaylee only started playing AssaultCube just a month ago, with the first day, pwning noobs as much as 75 - 23, which obviously indicates that she owns. Now she is with the Woop clan, improving more and more.

Drezil

Drezil's first own PC was delivered to his doors when he was 10. An old 368DX40 with 4 Megabytes of RAM. Although he had a huge 120MB of disk space, roughly 83% of it consisted of various games. One of his first 3D games was DukeNukem 3D.

Some time past, he was into Half Life (at school!!) and of course - Camper Strike. He organised and participated in many LAN parties to increase his pwnage skills.

When he grew up (yeah, of course he did...), he nearly quit gaming completely (graduation, girlfriend, army and civilian service). Not missing games much, he switched to GNU/Linux almost completely. In some time he began searching for Linux games and realised some strategic games - TA Spring being the first. And since this is a small world, he learned that Sauerbraten does really exist.

Of total pwnage on public servers, Drezil found himself invited to take a look at Woop, not even knowing what this clan was all about. He noted the URL and put it aside for a few weeks. After frustration, he joined #woop-clan and never left.

... and in real life, Drezil is mainly into computing. He loves programming for his life and has experience in various programming and scripting languages - PHP, C++, JavaScript, Ruby and such.

He is currently developing an own long term strategy game called Mission Unknown. I suggest that you check it out :-)

Wotwot's career as a first-person-shooter began in the mid 90s when he got his first fps-game, the legendary Doom. Many years later he stumbled upon a free fps called Cube, the predecessor of Sauerbraten, aka Cube 2. One evening while exploring the Sauerbraten servers wotwot came across a few same-minded people who had started their own clan, woop. Later he was invited to join, but being kind of a lone wolf he first declined. After some noob-bashing with woop-members he was finally convinced that like him self, these guys were some serious pwnerers, and sometimes it may be more satisfying to give noobs a lesson in a good company than just alone.

In real life, wotwot is student studying electronics in polytechnic, where he went after being temporarily layed off for health issues from carrying out his national service in Finnish Defence Forces. Some woop members consider that the health issues might be of a mental kind..

Wotwot is a devoted fan of FPS Doug and admirer of former Finnish president U. K. Kekkonen (who btw was leader of execution team in times of the Finnish civil war, “Sure he was the biggest ownerer of his time for making all those BOOM HEADSHOTS!?)

Passa's first experience with gaming came with playing a game called The Playroom on his dad's work laptop (a 386 speed demon) when he was only three years old. Passa instantly got into anything to do with computers.

At the age of five Passa discovered some of his favourite DOS games of all time; Descent, Doom, Duke Nukem and SimCity 2000. It wasn't long before he got into the Age of Empires series either, and by the age of eight Passa had his own laptop (Pentium 120Mhz) so he could practise ownage without hogging the family computer.

In 2001 when Passa was nine, his family bought a new computer, a fantastic computer for the time, with an amazing Athlon 1700+ and a GeForce 4 MX. Passa instantly got heavily into FPS games again, playing many classics like Deus Ex, Half-Life and Quake III Arena. But in 2003 at the age of eleven, Passa discovered the Unreal Tournament 2003 demo. He was so amazed by it he purchased the full game the next day and began playing online under the handle of "Passa". It was in this same year he discovered Cube, which he became addicted to, eventually leading Passa onto Sauerbraten (from the very early dev releases onwards) and AssaultCube.

Nowadays Passa plays any genre of games and owns at any of them, from JRPGs (Chrono / FF series ftw) to FPS games (Halo series ftw). He usually games online in Sauerbraten, AssaultCube, Counter-Strike: Source, Urban Terror, Battlefield 2 and FEAR, along with Halo 2 and Gears of War on Xbox Live.

Toca's first introduction to games was Pac-Man on the '1986 Atari 2006 jr VCS'. Years later with his introduction to an IBM's PS/2 PC and color graphics came his first PC games like Prince Of Persia, Out Of This World and Microsoft Flight Simulator 3. Nowadays Toca likes to spend time playing Call Of Duty along with Grand Theft Auto, Half Life, Need For Speed, and some Simulation Games.

In the July of 2007, Toca saw a reference to a free game called Assault Cube. In the first days of playing he got fragged and pwned maybe by some of today's best players in AC and didn't play for about 2 months before giving the game a second try, but this time there was no turning back - resistance to addiction was inevitable.

In real life, Toca's call of duty began as a computer technician, and when he got bored of fixing others' problems, he started working as a DJ in a night club. Today Toca works as a freelancer doing Video and Audio Editing for radio, TV and social events and likes to spend time mixing music for local radio stations, and, of course pwning n00bs in AC.
